Tony de Vos, founder of Westwood Laboratories, announced the appointment of Paul Schirmer as company president. Paul assumed the role on May 5, 2019, and will be focused on business development, seeking to leverage Westwood Labs' manufacturing versatility in several personal care categories, including beauty care, over-the-counter topical drugs, topical medical device formulations and pet/animal care products.
Recognized as a socially conscious corporate citizen by local and federal authorities, this 70-year old FDA-licensed leader in product development and quality custom manufacturing is solar powered and has been recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council for its commitment to energy independence and recycling efforts per its renovation and new construction.
Tony de Vos, vacating the president position (remaining as Chairman and CEO), is excited to have Paul back in action; "In his new role as President, Paul will be more focused than ever on business development and maintaining the financial health of the organization. Paul, who previously served as Westwood Labs' Executive Vice President, left in 2018 to join Thibiant International as Vice President of Product & Business Development. As part of the leadership restructuring, Rick Verhines, who joined Westwood Labs as Executive Vice President last year, has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer. Rick manages the operational departments at Westwood, including Manufacturing, Production, Quality Control, Shipping/Receiving, and Warehouse.
