Magento Names Nexcess Developer Miguel Balparda Master for Third Consecutive Year

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., June 4, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Nexcess, a leading provider of performance-optimized Magento cloud hosting, is proud to announce that Miguel Balparda, a Senior Magento Developer at Nexcess, has been named a Magento Master for the third consecutive year at Magento Imagine 2019.

Balparda has been part of the team behind the Nexcess performance-optimized Magento hosting platform since 2015 alongside developers and system engineers dedicated to building the fastest and most reliable Magento hosting platform in the world. At the Magento Masters awards in Las Vegas, Balparda was named a Master Mover, a thought leader who delivers best-in-class Magento implementations and drives innovation throughout the Magento ecosystem.

"I'm grateful to have been recognized as a Magento Master and for the chance to work with the fantastic team at Nexcess. Being part of a small external team at Nexcess while having the opportunity to decide which changes and features make it into Magento has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career," said Balparda.

Balparda's recognition as a Magento Master is due in part to his role as a Magento Community Maintainer. Community Maintainers are key contributors to the Magento open source community who are responsible for processing pull requests and deciding which new code is merged into the Magento application. Over the last three years, Miguel has worked on almost 300 pull requests.

"We're delighted by Miguel's recognition as a Magento Master for his contributions to the Magento open source project. Nexcess has always been a believer in giving back to the open source communities that build the applications we host, and we're proud to support Miguel as he contributes to the Magento community," said Chris Wells, President and CEO of Nexcess.

Nexcess has been part of the Magento story since Magento's creators hosted Bento, the application that was to become Magento, in Nexcess' data centers. Today, the company continues to push the boundaries of Magento performance and availability on the Nexcess Cloud.
