Vivacom Expands Service Portfolio with VSAT Connectivity Over VT iDirect Platform

HERNDON, Va., June 5, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- VT iDirect, a company of VT Systems, today announced that Vivacom, the largest telecommunications provider in Bulgaria, will launch a DVB-S2X maritime service, expanding its telecom portfolio to include very small aperture terminal (VSAT) connectivity. With the network expansion, Vivacom aims to meet growing demand for efficient and reliable connectivity by maritime vessel operators in the region.

Vivacom has successfully deployed an iDirect Universal Hub and X7 remotes, leveraging the iDirect platform's embedded mobility features, to meet the rigorous demands of maritime vessel operators. Vivacom plans to deploy a DVB-S2X network in the next few months and leverage the new iQ 200 Series remotes providing faster internet speeds and higher service reliability. The company further plans to leverage the flexibility of the iDirect platform and iQ series to expand its services to additional vertical markets, including government and private corporate networks.

"We chose to partner with VT iDirect because of their deep expertise and stellar reputation within the maritime market," said Vladimir Rangelov, Senior Sales Manager, Vivacom. "We are investing in the right ground infrastructure platform to start strong and grow broadly as the demand for VSAT connectivity intensifies across multiple enterprise markets."

"Vivacom's adoption of the iDirect technology proves the unique value of VSAT to expand a telecommunications provider's service portfolio," said Stephen Tunnicliffe, Regional Vice President, Europe, Middle East and Africa, VT iDirect. "We are confident that iDirect's mobility feature set and DVB-S2X performance will accelerate Vivacom's success in the region."
