Sound Seal Acquires Noise Barriers, LLC.

Sound Seal, a portfolio company of The Stephens Group, LLC and leading manufacturer of noise control products, announced today that it has acquired Illinois-based Noise Barriers, LLC. Noise Barriers will operate as a stand-alone division of Sound Seal. Through the Sound Seal acquisition, Noise Barriers will have access to capital to build on their broad portfolio of proven acoustical products, take customer service and quality to the next level and fully support the outstanding network of Noise Barriers sales reps and distributors.

“We are thrilled to add Noise Barriers to the Sound Seal portfolio of companies,” said Joe Lupone, CEO of Sound Seal. “With this acquisition, Sound Seal is able to expand our product portfolio and overall reach in to the noise control market through the addition of established brands and sales channel partners. This is in direct alignment with our core objective, which is to continue to strengthen and develop our presence in the noise control space, therefore allowing us the opportunity to better serve the acoustical market and the needs of its influencers.”

Clay Hunter, a Managing Director at The Stephens Group added, “We are pleased to support the Sound Seal team as they continue building the premier noise control platform in the industry. A key tenant of our approach is to help our businesses grow through thoughtful strategic initiatives such as this. Noise Barriers is an excellent business and a perfect fit with Sound Seal, and we are delighted to include their employees, customers and channel partners as a part of our family.”

Steve Mitchell, the founder of Noise Barriers, will remain on board in a strategic position as an advisor to Joe Lupone and actively involved in the training of channel partners and new product development. Additionally, a host of talented Noise Barrier employees will remain under the leadership of Mark Campbell who will continue in the capacity of President of Noise Barriers and John Finnegan as National Sales Manager. “Noise Barriers has been a major player in the acoustical space since 2003,” said Steve Mitchell, founder of Noise Barriers. “I am both proud and enthusiastic for the future of Noise Barriers as it moves on to become a Division of Sound Seal. Noise Barriers and its channel partners stand to benefit from the deep bench of operational and marketing expertise that will come with this acquisition. Sound Seal and their leadership team understand and respect the value in preserving the Noise Barriers name and legacy and I am looking forward to remaining on the team to help further build upon that for many years to come.”
