SDP/SI Named a Top US Machine Shop - 2019 Honors Program Winner for Human Resources
HICKSVILLE, N.Y., Aug. 2, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Stock Drive Products/Sterling Instrument (SDP/SI), a division of Designatronics, a leader in providing mechanical based engineering, and precision manufacturing services has been named one of four Honors Program winners in association with Modern Machine Shop magazine's ninth annual Top Shops benchmarking survey.
The Modern Machine Shop (published by Gardner Business Media, Cincinnati, Ohio) annual survey enables owners and managers of U.S. computer numerical control (CNC) machine shops opportunity to compare their operations' performance and practices against industry leaders. The survey is split into four key sections: machining technology, shopfloor practices, business strategies, and human resources. An Honors Program winner is selected for each of these categories, and SDP/SI, manufacturer of precision gears, machined parts, custom mechanical components, and assemblies, was named 2019 Honors Program winner for human resources.
"Each year, Honors Program winners are vetted and selected by me from a top-tier benchmarking group established from answers to select survey questions," says Derek Korn, Modern Machine Shop's executive editor and technical director for the magazine's Top Shops benchmarking program and conference. "SDP/SI was selected as the human resources winner for its efforts to consolidate its four separate operations into one new $24 million facility, which has greatly improved internal communication and customer service.
