East Asia Marine Expo 2019 Concludes in Qingdao, Attracting 168,000 Visitors

East Asia Marine Expo 2019 which opened on September 4, 2019 came to a successful conclusion on September 8 at Qingdao Cosmopolitan Exposition, Qingdao West Coast New Area, China. Themed “Towards Greater Openness and Connectivity – Blue, Ocean, and Technology,” the Expo gathered more than 600 companies and institutions from over 60 countries and regions across the world to display nearly 30,000 products, covering marine engineering, marine technology and consumer products, as well as over 168,000 visitors.

As a major part of the East Asia Marine Cooperation Platform Qingdao Forum, the Expo focused on “port, shipping, finance and trade” and presented seven exhibition zones in an area of 40,000m2, aiming to establish itself as a high-end professional full-chain marine exhibition platform.

In its six professional exhibition zones, namely International Marine Exhibition Zone, Qingdao Marine Technology Exhibition Zone, Marine Equipment Exhibition Zone, Smart Manufacturing Exhibition Zone, Port and Shipping Exhibition Zone and Finance and Trade Exhibition Zone, the Expo attracted over 60 Fortune 500 companies, including Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, CSIC, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Huawei, JD, Qingdao Port, BGI, and Ping An Group to display cutting-edge technologies and products such as offshore drilling equipment, loaders, automated wharf command system, drones, unmanned vehicles, and marine finance. Meanwhile, the Foreign and Domestic Commodities Zone gathered various embassies and investment & trade promotion associations of East Asian countries.

A total of 210 domestic and international professional delegations and over 168,000 visitors gathered at the Expo, making it the leading professional exhibition brand in China’s marine industry. During the Expo, Sany Heavy Industry’s SDCE90K7 electric stacker was endorsed by Qingdao Port, Rizhao Port, Weifang Port, etc., and sealed orders amounting to over RMB 10 million. Other products like Shandong Focus General Aviation’s Robinson R44 series helicopters, Haishuo’s smart garbage classification equipment and BGI’s desktop sequencer BGISEQ-50 were also favored by customers from Beijing, Tianjin, Jinan, and Yantai.

East Asia Marine Expo 2019 provided an economic, trade and cultural exchange platform for the East Asian countries and regions along the “Belt and Road.” It also built an efficient cooperation platform for marine-related enterprises in Qingdao and the world.
