ProMAX Systems Pushes Data Transfer Speeds to New Levels

AMSTERDAM, Sept. 12, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- ProMAX Systems, a world leader in integrated workflow technology for creative media organizations, has began testing 25G and 100G connections with SSDs on different workstations.

Standard HD is no longer the standard resolution as video creators begin to push into 4K, 6K and beyond. As video teams move into higher resolution footage, editors will be working with larger files to handle all of the data stored in them. Larger files can lead to longer read/write times using a standard 1G or 10G connection.

The ProMAX engineering team began testing different workstations with 25G and 100G connections paired with and the results were impressive. 

    --  The first test was a Mac Pro Trash Can with a 25GB connection and 24
        SSDs which was able to produce a Read Speed of 1010 MB/s and Write
        Speeds of 1002 MB/s.
    --  The second test was a MacBook Pro with a 25GB Thunderbolt 3 connection
        and 24 SSDs which produced a Read Speed of 1607 MB/s and Write Speeds of
        1307 MB/s.
    --  The final test was a Windows Workstation with a 16 lane PCIe 25GB
        connection with 24 SSDs which was able to produce Read Speed of 2228
        MB/s and Write Speeds of 2158 MB/s.
