PRMA Plastic Surgery To Host San Antonio's 2019 BRA Day Event

SAN ANTONIO, Sept. 24, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- PRMA Plastic Surgery is honored to host this year's San Antonio Breast Reconstruction Awareness (BRA) Day event.

The event will be help on Wednesday, October 16th at 6pm at Plaza Lecea in the medical center. The event will include breast reconstruction education, on-site PRMA board-certified plastic surgeons, local breast cancer support organizations, door prizes, a show and tell room, live entertainment, refreshments and much more.

BRA Day is recognized nationwide and is designed to promote education, awareness, and access to all breast reconstruction options following a mastectomy or lumpectomy. It is a collective collaboration between the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The Plastic Surgery Foundation, breast centers, nurse navigators, corporate partners, and breast cancer support groups. By working together to spread education to local communities, this day helps inspire women and men to know that life beyond breast cancer can be very fulfilling.

Informing patients of their reconstruction options before, or at the time of diagnosis is critically important to improving life after breast cancer. Even if a patient decides against breast reconstruction, it is still important for patients to discuss all their options with a surgeon to ensure they are making an informed choice that best fits their lifestyle.
