Heartly House To Receive $40k Matching Grant From Ausherman Family Foundation

FREDERICK, Md., Oct. 14, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Ausherman Family Foundation (AFF) has announced that all donations to Heartly House received between August 23, 2019 and August 30, 2020 up to a total of $40,000 will be matched, dollar for dollar. The announcement was made during Heartly House's Rock the 40th, Walk a Mile in Their Shoes event.

"We are thrilled that all of the work that individuals and teams put into fundraising for the Walk, will be included - so all cash, check and credit card contributions from the event will be matched by the Foundation," stated Inga James, Heartly House President and Executive Director.

Donations are used to support efforts to end domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and child abuse as well as to provide victims with safety, shelter, and supportive services. The matching amount by the Ausherman Family Foundation will instantly double contributions received.

Heartly House is the only organization in Frederick County, MD that provides these comprehensive services, which include a 24-Hour Hotline, Crisis Intervention, Emergency Shelter, Counseling Services, Legal Services, Hospital Accompaniment, Advocacy and Support, Community Outreach, Prevention and Education.

Through community awareness presentations, Heartly House educates Frederick County citizens about the cycle of violence, the dynamics of intimate partner abuse, sexual assault response and prevention, healthy relationships, and what constitutes consent. Through the support of the Ausherman family, Heartly House can continue to work together with victims to better understand the nature of their situations and encourage positive strategies to make change.
