OmniTRAX is the First Short Line Railroad Named an American Chemistry Council Responsible Care® Partner

OmniTRAX, Inc., one of the fastest growing transportation companies in North America, has joined the American Chemistry Council’s Responsible Care® Partner Program, committing to the chemical manufacturing industry’s environmental, health, safety and security performance initiative. OmniTRAX joins North America’s seven Class 1 freight railroads as a partner to reconfirm the company’s commitment to continuous improvement in environment, health, safety and security.

“OmniTRAX is once again a leader among short line and regional railroad companies in engaging with our customers and partners to create and maintain the safest and most secure supply chain possible. The Responsible Care initiative is perfectly aligned with our core values, which focus on safety, honesty and trust, ownership, respect and value our people, and teamwork,” said OmniTRAX CEO Kevin Shuba.

Many of the elements that comprise the Responsible Care Management System® are currently implemented at OmniTRAX. As part of its membership in Responsible Care, OmniTRAX will document and report performance metrics and records relevant to safety, health, environment and security.

“We are pleased to welcome another strong leader from the transportation and logistics sector to the Responsible Care initiative and look forward to working with OmniTRAX to help make the extended chemical supply chain even more safe and efficient,” said Chris Jahn, President & CEO of the American Chemistry Council.

Over the past several years, OmniTRAX-managed railroads have safely transported a wide variety of chemicals. A significant portion of the company’s revenues come from chemical refineries and manufacturing facilities.

“Our teams throughout the continent conduct extensive inspections on the railroad infrastructure, train for an exhaustive list of emergency scenarios and deploy industry best practices that ensure a safe and healthy work environment. We are constantly working to improve performance in all aspects of safety and compliance to achieve our goal of no injuries or accidents, and membership in Responsible Care will help us meet those objectives,” said Sergio Sabatini, Chief Operating Officer at OmniTRAX.
