M-Files Recognized in Gartner's 2019 Critical Capabilities for Content Services Platforms Report

DALLAS, Nov. 18, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- M-Files Corporation, the intelligent information management company, today announced that it has been recognized in Gartner Inc.'s Critical Capabilities for Content Services Platforms report. The report accompanies the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Content Services Platforms, where M-Files was positioned as a Visionary, and further evaluates M-Files features and functionalities.

Both reports offer valuable insights and learnings for companies of all sizes as they review leading vendor offerings. In the Critical Capabilities report, Gartner analyzes the capabilities of 18 vendors by rating a core set of attributes. Vendors are also assessed by how well their solutions support a set of key use cases important to organizations evaluating and implementing a content services platform.

"We believe M-Files' recognition in both the Gartner Magic Quadrant and Critical Capabilities reports confirms that our intelligent, metadata-based approach to information management is indeed shaping the future of content services platforms," said Mika Javanainen, vice president, product marketing at M-Files. "We also feel our unique vision for intelligent information management and the depth and breadth of our innovative solution is clearly illustrated in these reports."

M-Files received high scores in document management (4.21 out of 5) and records management (4.20 out of 5) use cases, and was evaluated for differentiation across 15 critical capabilities, including analytics and reporting, metadata and classification, administration, content security, content management, delivery model, capture, information governance, workflow and process, business application enablement, collaboration, platform, productivity, search and system security.

Today's enterprises must manage an ever-growing volume of documents, files and data - all while adhering to strict compliance regulations and data privacy requirements. These factors, along with the influence of major trends in content services, including cloud and mobility, artificial intelligence, metadata, and Software-as-a-Service business models, are propelling leading organizations to modernize their approaches to information management in order to increase productivity, improve quality and reduce regulatory risk.

According to Gartner, "The content services platform market continues to modernize with greater importance given to cloud, user experience, intelligence and configurability." When defining Metadata and Classification as a critical capability, Gartner adds, "The ability to create and manage unstructured tags is fundamental here. More advanced features enable users to define structured metadata patterns, thereby enhancing findability and the extraction of insights."

The M-Files platform eliminates information silos and provides quick and easy access to data and content from any business system or device. Whether it is stored in M-Files or across other systems and repositories, information can be accessed and managed through a single view, without requiring data migration. With its open architecture, M-Files supports connectors to SharePoint, network file shares, email, file sharing services, CRM, ERP and more. M-Files also provides AI-powered solutions for Microsoft Office 365 and Google G Suite, offering out-of-the-box document management, compliance and governance features, all seamlessly integrated with these familiar office productivity suites.
