Dr. Kovatis treats all aspects of lower extremity orthopedics. Through his training at Level I trauma centers, he is often referred complex and routine fractures, in addition to second opinions.
Licensed in both New Jersey and New York, Dr. Kovatis has had full privileges at HUMC-Meridian since completing his training at the Hospital for Special Surgery. He has served as the Chairman of the Medical Board and Medical Staff of Hackensack University Medical Center and he has Chaired the Quality and Patient Safety Committee to the Board of Governors. Dr. Kovatis was the only orthopedic executive member on the Board of Governors for over a decade. He also served as the orthopedic representative to the Credentials Committee at HUMC and as the president of the Bergen County Medical Society for two years.
Currently, Dr. Kovatis serves as the Town Orthopedist for Hasbrouck Heights and remains an active philanthropist for various sports and military organizations. In addition, Dr. Kovatis has had numerous articles published and referenced in peer-reviewed academic orthopedic journals.
