Operation Homefront Presents Cornerstone Award to Marc Knowles

SAN ANTONIO, Jan. 16, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Operation Homefront, the national nonprofit serving America's military families, has presented its 2019 Cornerstone Award to Marc Knowles, Director, Global Military Team for Procter & Gamble. Operation Homefront presents the Cornerstone Award for outstanding contributions toward the organization's mission to build strong, stable, and secure military families. The award is reserved for those individuals who have transformed how Operation Homefront serves military families and delivers impact.

Knowles' diligent efforts to build a partnership between P&G's Military Channel and Operation Homefront has yielded incredible impact as the two organizations initiated new approaches to support America's military families in the communities where they live and work.

Knowles was instrumental in launching "Start Strong, Stay Strong," an online community for military women that builds critical local support between those who hold down the home front. As a part of that effort, Knowles connected Operation Homefront to U.S. Army veteran and two-time Paralympian Melissa Stockwell, raising the nonprofit's program awareness among key constituents through her integrity and courageous story.

Thanks to Knowles' commitment to supporting our military, Procter & Gamble has provided millions of dollars in cash and in-kind donations to Operation Homefront. In addition, Knowles has extended visibility for Operation Homefront's mission to serve America's military families with P&G brands, including Head & Shoulders and Gillette, serving as an advocate for military families across P&G's sphere of influence.

"Universally recognized for his unwavering commitment to supporting our military families, Marc was an obvious choice for our prestigious Cornerstone Award. He enthusiastically championed our important work and opened doors to new partnerships, not only with familiar household brands within Procter & Gamble, but to adjacent markets that led to powerful connections to the SpartanNash Foundation and Feld Entertainment," said Brig. Gen. (ret.) John I. Pray Jr., President and CEO of Operation Homefront. "We are thrilled to recognize Marc for all he has done and continues to do to help us give military families the opportunity to thrive, not simply struggle to get by, in the communities they have worked so hard to protect."
