Wag! Introduces Wag! Now To Help San Francisco Pet Parents in Need of Essential Pet Services During Coronavirus Pandemic

SAN FRANCISCO, March 20, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Wag!, the on-demand dog walking and boarding app, today launched Wag! Now, a service providing essential socially distanced pet transportation, pet food delivery, and special need pet services in San Francisco. Created to assist during the COVID-19 outbreak and the requirement for San Franciscans to shelter-in-place, Wag! Now serves to help and protect the Wag! community and their furry family members with essential pet services.

To ensure each and every pet parent has the help they need during this time, Wag! Now gives pet parents the option to:

-- Schedule transportation to and from a veterinarian clinic or pet groomer
        for their pet only.
-- Arrange shopping and delivery from a local pet store for needed
supplies, such as food, treats, and toys.
-- Set up special services such as special care for elderly pups or
specific feeding for any other type of pet.

"At Wag!, the health and safety of the community is our #1 priority," said Garrett Smallwood, CEO of Wag!. "We've received stories of caregivers helping transport pets, feed pups while pet parents are stuck while traveling, and pick up special treats for pet parents who can't leave the house. Regardless of the circumstances, it's our commitment to provide a platform for care of furry family members in whatever support they need."

Wag! Now can be arranged with minimal contact through the Wag! App. Pet parents can simply schedule the service, include special instructions, and chat directly with a pet caregiver. In addition, services can be requested with social distancing measures in mind, including limited contact pick-up and drop-off. Wag! continues to ask pet parents and pet caregivers to take measures to follow the guidance of medical authorities and the CDC to help ensure the health and safety of everyone in the Wag! Community, including adhering to "social distancing" requirements during each service.

To support the pet caregiver community in defraying the cost of additional COVID-19 related safety supplies, a pet parent now has the option to give a dedicated tip that goes 100% to the pet caregiver (identical to all other Wag! Tips). This will help them pay for gloves, hand sanitizer, as well as any other necessary equipment. "It's been inspiring to read the stories of the Wag! Community going above and beyond during the COVID-19 outbreak, finding ways to leverage the Wag! Platform to further help and protect people and their furry family members with essential pet services," continued Smallwood.

Wag! Now is available in San Francisco for a limited time and will open additional areas as time and resources allow. The Wag! App is available in the Apple App Store and Android.
