Nystrom & Associates Uses Tele-Health During COVID-19 Crisis

NEW BRIGHTON, Minn., March 24, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Nystrom & Associates, Ltd, one of the Nation's largest behavioral health and substance use disorder providers announces that the majority of their appointments will now be conducted through tele-health, during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Additionally, they are still scheduling new appointments.

Nystrom & Associates, Ltd. (NAL) is taking major steps and has already implemented changes to help mitigate the risk of the spread of the global (COVID-19) outbreak. NAL is asking that no one comes to any onsite clinic if they are feeling ill, or have been in close proximity to someone with COVID-19 within the last 14 days.

"The health and well-being of our patients and employees are of the utmost importance to us as an organization. We will not allow external factors, such as COVID-19, to hinder our commitment in bringing much needed, high-quality behavioral health and addiction services to our communities. As such, we have been tirelessly working around the clock to ensure there's no gap in services provided," said CCO Peter Nystrom.

In keeping safety as the highest priority, as of Wednesday, March 18, 2020, until the COVID-19 pandemic concerns have substantially dissipated, the vast majority of Nystrom & Associates patient appointments will be conducted through tele-health. Nystrom & Associates is a leader in the tele-health space, starting in 2010 with offering tele-psychiatry, and is proud to continue serving patients during this time of crisis.

Additionally, Nystrom & Associates is offering expert clinicians as a resource to the press as it relates to COVID-19 and its adverse effects. Topics such as: panic, isolation, depression, anxiety, substance use disorder/relapse, maintaining a physically and emotionally healthy home environment, healthy communication, and how to keep your kids entertained through education and physical activity.

Brian Nystrom, CEO added: "The decision to shift from in-person to a virtual platform was made, and mobilization efforts culminated going live Wednesday, March 18. Overall, it went very well considering the magnitude of the change in how we deliver care. We are diligently working at tweaking the process, technology and equipment throughout the pandemic. When Governor Walz and President Trump declare the crisis is over, we will shift back again to an in-person platform. There is no known timeline at this point."
