LOCKHEED HELPS SPAIN WITH NAVAL RADARS

Lockheed Martin has signed a contract with Spanish shipbuilder Navantia for the installation of solidstate S-band radars on five new F-110 frigates underconstruction for the Spanish Navy. Lockheed noted that the F-110 program would promote industrial participation, joint technology development, and interoperability with navies across the world.

Another radar system will be installed at the Centro de Integración de Sistemas en Tierra (CIST). “Lockheed Martin will continue to work with Spanish industry to explore new areas of industrial cooperation in radar and combat system technologies. This will help pave the way for future international sales of the F-110 frigate and new technologies, including the new S-band radar,” the company said in a statement.
