Voters in Taos and Trimble Vote for Missouri American Water to Provide Sewer Service

On Tuesday residents in Taos and Trimble overwhelmingly voted for Missouri American Water to become their trusted provider of sewer service.

“We are so honored by the opportunity to serve residents and businesses in Trimble and Taos,” said Debbie Dewey, president of Missouri American Water. “Voters in both of these cities recognized the benefits of our tremendous experience and expertise, and we look forward to becoming a part of their communities as we begin providing safe and reliable sewer service.”

Over the next five years Missouri American Water has committed to investing $1 million in the Trimble sewer system and $700,000 in the Taos sewer system. These investments will fund improvements that are critical for maintaining regulatory compliance and system reliability.

The ballot measures, which were approved by nearly 90% of voters in both cities, will add approximately 700 new Missouri American Water sewer customers in central and western Missouri. The company anticipates closing on each acquisition later in 2020 pending approval by the Missouri Public Service Commission.
