Akima Names Barbara Doherty as Vice President of Contracts and Procurement

HERNDON, Va., June 16, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Akima today announced that Barbara Doherty has been named Vice President of Contracts and Procurement. Doherty will oversee all of Akima's corporate contracts, subcontracts, and purchasing operations.

Prior to joining Akima, Doherty served as corporate vice president of contracts for Pacific Architects and Engineers (PAE) where she was responsible for contracts corporate-wide as well as the day-to-day management of the National Security Solutions business unit. While at PAE, she also led the Global Supply Chain operation for PAE, responsible for $1B in subcontracts and procurement.

Doherty brings over 30 years of professional government contracts experience to Akima. In addition to her roles at PAE, she led contracts and procurement organizations at U.S. Investigation Services and Chenega Corporation. Doherty began her career as a senior contracting officer for the U.S. federal government, and she holds a Professional Contract Management certification from the National Contracts Management Association (NCMA).
