Japanese National Police Agency chooses 4G night vision
Friday, June 26, 2020 - Bordeaux, Photonis announces that the Japanese National Police Agency (NPA) has chosen 4G image intensifier tubes for their latest acquisition of night vision equipment. With the choice of NPA for 4G, Photonis reinforces its market position as main supplier of high performance image intensifier tubes in Asia.
With 4G image intensification technology the Japanese NPA choose the most state-of-the art technology that is currently available for night vision optics. NPA selected night vision monoculars that will be equipped with 16 mm high performance 4G image intensifier tubes. The 4G technology increases the ability to detect, recognize and identify (DRI) threats and to operate in all night conditions, with an unsurpassed performance in urban areas, enabling this technology especially suitable for Police Operations.
The 4G standard is the latest technology in intensified night vision and is specifically designed to address the stringent requirements of special forces operators and only 4G can offer ultra-fast Auto-Gating, the smallest halo and unrivalled spectral range from ultraviolet to near infrared. 4G provides an edge over adversaries in the darkest nights, in all terrain and operations and operators can gain from the best DRI range possible.
