Modular Home Builders Association Recognizes Industry Excellence at 2020 Annual Meeting

HARRISBURG, Pa., Oct. 12, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Modular Home Builders Association (MHBA) recently held its annual conference in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania with about fifty attendees participating in person. MHBA made the decision to move forward with an in-person event after surveying members and securing additional meeting space with the hotel. The event itself featured four speakers discussing business continuity, innovation, and issues and opportunities facing the industry. At the conference, the MHBA members elected its new Board of Directors for the 2021-2022 term. John Colucci of Westchester Homes will become the new Board President in January, with Mike Zangardi of Ritz-Craft moving to Past President. Other officers include Ken Semler of Impressa Modular (Vice-Chair); Lynn Kuhns of Apex Homes (Secretary); and Kris Megna of Dreamline Homes (Treasurer). Directors include Anthony Zarrilli (Zarrilli Homes); Gwen Elliott (D&W Homes); Steve Payne (Champion); Cecil Provost ( Saratoga Homes); Harris Woodward (Finishwerks); Craig Landri (Signature Building Systems); Dave Mertz (Simplex Homes); Dana Nilson (Southeastern Development Co); Gary Casazza (Gary Allen Homes); and David Roover (Quartz Properties). Steven Snyder, Esq. will serve as an ex-officio member of the board.

During the conference, MHBA announced and inducted four individuals into the industry hall of fame. By establishing this award, the Modular Home Builders Association recognizes the contributions of those whose careers are or were dedicated to our industry or whose acts have had a significant impact on the careers of all others involved. The following individuals were inducted as MHBA's inaugural class:

    --  Thomas M. Saltsgiver, President and founder of Muncy Homes, Inc., a
        modular home manufacturer established in 1973.
    --  Donald E. Meske, Founder of Deluxe Building Systems in 1965.
    --  Charlie Mogish, Co-Founder and President at Haven Homes, established in
        1970.
    --  Patrick A. Fricchione, Sr. Co-founded Simplex Industries, Inc. in 1971.

Each month from last September through this August, the association recognized an MHBA member with the Home of the Month. That home gets featured on MHBA's homepage, LinkedIn group, and Facebook - with an average reach of over 45,000 and an average engagement of over 10,000.

MHBA surveyed the general public to vote on the past twelve home of the month winners to determine the Home of the Year recipient. This year, voters chose from twelve homes in seven states, ranging in size from 1,000 sf to 5,000 sf.

With over 1,000 total votes received in all, the winner for MHBA's 2020 Home of the Year is Zarrilli Homes, LLC (builder) and Simplex Homes (manufacturer) for their 2,366 square foot, four bedroom/three bath "Ocean Road" home in New Jersey.

MHBA is proud of the industry and was pleased by the success of the in-person Annual Meeting. MHBA Executive Director Tom Hardiman said "We're pleased this meeting went so smoothly and that the precautions we took didn't impact the ability of attendees to network and connect."
