Hunting Upgrades Its ControlFire Software

Titan Division of Hunting Energy Services, a subsidiary of Hunting PLC, the international energy services company, today introduced an enhanced version 9.1 to its ControlFire® software, creating the fastest and most advanced addressable switch platform currently available.

ControlFire software is a user-friendly interface for detecting, arming and firing Hunting’s ControlFire switches. Version 9.1 incorporates all previous software upgrades with the company’s ControlFire Recon™ and PowerSet Recon™ technologies; a speed check option; and English, Chinese and Spanish interface language options.

ControlFire Recon™ allows system interrogation of the switch and the detonator for each gun assembly while downhole, and can enable the PowerSet Recon™ addressable power charge to activate the industry’s first fully addressable plug-and-perf toolstring.

The speed check option at the gun control screen can initiate a switch check that will skip verifying the detonator, the switch voltage and the delta current—allowing for even faster operations.

Previous software upgrades include on-the-fly shooting, to speed up the perforating process when firing while moving up hole, as well as intuitive troubleshooting prompts if errors occur.

Hunting’s select-fire perforating technology is accessible through Hunting’s network of distribution centers strategically located in all the world’s oil-producing regions. Customers can download ControlFire software V: 9.1 at http://www.hunting-intl.com/titan/wireline-selective-firing-systems/controlfire®-software.
