Dynetics Awarded Cyber and AI Training Contract for Fort Sill

Lawton, OK August 9, 2022 - Dynetics, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Leidos, was awarded a $29 million contract by the Aviation & Missile Technology Consortium (AMTC) to continue its work in utilizing advanced techniques such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in their efforts to detect, track and respond to cyber electromagnetic activity (CEMA) threats. The effort is in partnership with the Fires Innovation Science and Technology Accelerator (FISTA). This training and innovation center supports the Fires Center of Excellence at Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma, as well as its two cross functional teams - Long Range Precision Fires and Air and Missile Defense.

In 2020, the company was the first to join FISTA and support its efforts to combat CEMA attacks while training soldiers in a rapidly changing field. Since then, the Dynetics CEMA Task Force has been conducting annual exercises to assess the systems' potential weaknesses and address them. The next part of the program will focus on having those real time innovations flow over into training for soldiers while at the FISTA center.

"Software innovation and training are being synchronized in this important field," said Nate Slate, director of Fires and Air and Missile Defense Development at Dynetics. "Evolving technologies are already in the works to meet rapid change. Our ability to evolve and train simultaneously will help protect these systems and keep our nation secure. We're proud to support Fort Sill in this effort and provide an effective pathway for the future."

This contract will also bring more skilled workforce members to the Lawton community where FISTA is located. Dynetics has already hired 10 full-time employees to support the contract and is working to double this workforce in the near future.
