Axon Vision and CSG Form Strategic Partnership to Modernize Czech Armored Vehicles, Securing Initial Order for AI-Powered Situational Awareness Systems

April 9, 2025 – Axon Vision is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with Czechoslovak Group (CSG) from the Czech Republic, one of the largest defense companies in Europe. The collaboration and initial order, led within CSG by its subsidiary Retia, a renowned provider of defense technology, marks the first step in a broader partnership to modernize European armored vehicle fleets and pursue various opportunities in the region. Retia closely cooperates with Tatra Defense Vehicle (TDV), which is a manufacturer of various types of armored vehicles, including the PANDUR 8x8 EVO.
As part of this collaboration, Retia has selected Axon Vision’s EdgeSA AI-based situational awareness system to enhance the capabilities of the PANDUR 8x8 EVO and offer it to potential customers around the world. This strategic agreement follows an extensive competitive evaluation process, during which Axon Vision’s technology demonstrated superior performance in every aspect. Retia market brand has been announced as SAAV – Situational Awareness for Armored Vehicles, and includes not only EdgeSA itself, but also integration activities needed for different types of armored vehicles.
“As part of our projects, which we carry out in cooperation with other companies within the CSG group, we create products for our customers that meet the highest standards. To achieve this, we need reliable and top-tier partners with high-tech products. That is why we chose to collaborate with Axon Vision on the PANDUR 8x8 EVO project,” said Jan Mikulecký, CEO of Retia.
EdgeSA, Axon Vision’s AI-based situational awareness system, enables armored vehicle crews to operate with enhanced battlefield perception, and provides early warning of battlefield threats, even in closed-hatch operations. By fusing data from multiple sensors in real time, EdgeSA reduces cognitive load on commanders and crew, automates target detection, and optimizes battlefield decision-making.
This strategic agreement marks the start of a long-term collaboration between Axon Vision and Retia, positioning Axon Vision as a key partner in the modernization of European armored vehicle fleets. While initially focused on the PANDUR fleet, the collaboration paves the way for integrating EdgeSA into other platforms, including the TADEAS 6x6 produced by TDV, as well as exploring additional opportunities across Europe.
“Since its establishment, TDV has cooperated with Israeli companies, which enables us to offer our customers powerful and efficient armoured vehicles. These vehicles require high-quality electronic systems and software to operate effectively – and this applies to our latest models, the PANDUR 8x8 EVO and the TADEAS 6x6. So, we hope that our cooperation with Axon Vision will help us succeed with these vehicles on the most demanding markets,” explained TDV’s CEO Tomáš Mohapl.
“Our AI-powered situational awareness technology is redefining armored vehicle operations, delivering real-time, actionable intelligence that maximizes survivability and mission effectiveness,” said BG. (Ret.) Roy Riftin, CEO of Axon Vision. “This selection highlights Axon Vision’s growing presence in the European defense market and reinforces its role as an integrator of AI-driven defense solutions.”
Axon Vision’s AI-driven solutions are modular and platform-agnostic, seamlessly integrating with both legacy and next-generation military systems. By bridging the gap between human operators and machine intelligence, Axon Vision enables faster, more precise battlefield responses. Already deployed by customers worldwide, the company's technology supports both manned and unmanned platforms across land, air, and sea.
