Establishment
The establishment of the legal predecessor of the PowerQuattro Co., PowerQuattro Ltd. in 1992 by four domestic private companies was motivated by the intention of setting up a development and production company with a substantial innovation base, supplying to the fields of power electronics. In the period between 1992 and 1998 the company intensively increased its market share and in the first half of 1998 through the merger of PowerQuattro Ltd. and the 16th District Construction Company, the PowerQuattro Power Electronics and Construction Joint Stock Company was established. The company has its own real estate property of 17000 m2 in the 16th district of Budapest, where the company's premises are also located. The owners of the company are directly or indirectly of Hungarian nationality.

Professional background
The majority of the staff of the PowerQuattro Company employed in the power electronics division of the company had learnt and practiced their profession in the former Hungarian Research Institute of the Electrical Industry, bringing a thorough knowledge of the field and a wide range of market and business contacts with them. The highly qualified engineers and the staff of designers supporting them have made the company capable of rapid and successful technological development and production.

Activity
The power electronics division of the PowerQuattro Co. specialises in the development and production of power electronic converters for the purpose of current supply. A significant area of professional power supply market consists of uninterruptable power supply systems and equipment. The task of the uninterruptable power supply systems and equipment is to protect consumers sensitive to failures or interruptions of the supply from harmful effects thereof. Typical examples of such sensitive consumers are the various computer systems, communication and telecommunication systems (e.g. telephone ex-changes), traffic and communication systems, process control systems, operating rooms, intensive care and monitoring stations of hospitals, defence and tele mechanical networks of power stations, landing control and runway lighting systems at airports, in general the various networks of emergency and supplementary illumination, all kinds of supervising, control, remote control, alarm or security systems.

Part of the equipment of the uninterruptable power supply systems can be used independently for the satisfaction of different power supply purposes. The task of this equipment is to ensure the feeding with suitable voltage, current, phase number and frequency for the consumers, meeting the consumers' requirements. This equipment is the traction rectifiers, regulated electric drives, technological supply sources. The power supply systems can be divided arbitrarily into two big parts. Among one part the mass-produced products, the so called commercial products can be ranked, among the other the professional equipment with high quality and reliability. The PowerQuattro would like to be the effective competitor of other companies with similar activity in the latter special field.

The PowerQuattro's electronics division specialises in the development and production of power supply converters for power supply. The company manufactures within power supply converters, rectifiers, battery chargers, supply units, inverters, converters and AC and DC uninterruptable power supply systems built up by these equipment.

Establishment of relations
As a result of the intensive development activities carried out in the last few years, the company is capable of providing professional answers to any demands related to the field of power electronics, meeting the highest requirements both in terms of quality and reliability by mass produced products or systems built up by power supply modules in individual design meeting the special requirements of the customers. The company intensively makes effort to reorganise the construction activities. In this field the company's goal is primarily to carry out construction activities relating to the field of power electronics.
