Meggitt Training Systems Sells Live-Fire Range Equipment to Collin College

Meggitt Training Systems, the leading provider of integrated live-fire and virtual weapons training products and services, announced today it sold a significant quantity of live-fire range equipment to Collin College Public Safety Training Center (PSTC) in McKinney, Texas. This equipment was part of a multimillion dollar contract with CORE Construction.

There are three separate indoor ranges in this facility for Collin College (15 lanes at 50 yards), Allen Police Department (12 lanes at 50 yards), and McKinney Police Department (10 lanes at 100 yards). Meggitt provided three LE5000D steel escalator bullet traps, each with a dust collection unit and bullet-conveying auger with controls in each of the three control rooms. Meggitt also provided programmable AA2 fixed 360-degree turning targets and running man targets for each range, all to be controlled by the new RangeMaster™ Control System (RMCS) with wireless master control capabilities. All the required ballistic protection and noise abatement equipment and materials were also provided by the company. Meggitt’s innovative products will provide Collin College with the most advanced range equipment in the United States.

The college’s PSTC houses fire science and law enforcement academies, in addition to providing expanded training and professional development opportunities for local fire and police departments. There are three indoor firing ranges that occupy 53,000 square feet. Other facilities include a 10,000-square-foot law enforcement training area with simulated retail spaces, office buildings and living areas for reality-based scenario training, plus a dedicated defensive tactics room.
