Formlabs Unveils Manufacturing Developments at the Digital Factory

At its Digital Factory conference today, Formlabs, the designer and manufacturer of powerful and accessible 3D printing systems, announced several developments that will advance the future of manufacturing:

  • Introducing powerful new 3D printing technologies: Formlabs debuted Fuse 1 and Form Cell. The company’s first selective laser sintering (SLS) 3D printer, Fuse 1 brings the industrial power of SLS 3D printing to the benchtop and is 20 times less expensive than the cheapest industrial SLS machines. Form Cell is Formlabs’ automated production solution for additive manufacturing that uses the Form 2, the best-selling professional SLA print engine that’s already stood the test of printing more than 10 million parts. • New Balance announcement: Formlabs announced it is working with global athletic leader New Balance to bring 3D printing to large-scale, Massachusetts-based footwear manufacturing. (Additional details available here)

The Digital Factory is a first-ever digital manufacturing conference organized by Formlabs in collaboration with Desktop Metal. With speakers from Autodesk, Foundry Group, GE Ventures, PTC, New Balance, Stratasys and many more, the Digital Factory gathers experts at the forefront of the nascent manufacturing revolution to explore how we’re transforming the way we design and create products. Livestreaming and video replays of the Digital Factory’s sessions will be available at www.formlabs.com.
