Hankook Tire Continues Partnership with Disabled American Veterans, Launches Hankook Heroes Recognition Program

NASHVILLE, Tenn., June 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Hankook Tire America Corp. continues to support the veteran community and today announced its renewed commitment to DAV (Disabled American Veterans), which provides free services to veterans of all generations where they live. In the third year of its partnership with DAV, Hankook donated $150,000 to help support DAV's Mobile Service Office (MSO) program, and today launches its Hankook Heroes program to help honor America's veterans.

"Hankook Tire is proud to continue its partnership with DAV for a third consecutive year," said Hee Se Ahn, President, Hankook Tire America Corp. "We are honored to help provide American veterans with access to the benefits and services they deserve."

Ahn added, "A significant percentage of Hankook Tire America employees are U.S. military veterans, and as we continue to expand our footprint in the United States with the opening of our first U.S. plant in Clarksville, Tenn., we value our veteran community more than ever. Our Hankook Heroes recognition program is another way we are honoring those who have given so much to this country."

Hankook Heroes
Through the 2017 Hankook Heroes recognition program, Hankook invites you to help honor America's heroes. Visit HankookHeroes.com between now and August 25 and share a story about why veterans are heroes to you. All submissions will be entered for a chance to receive a set of Hankook tires. A second set of Hankook tires will be donated to DAV for use on one of its MSO vehicles to further help support veterans across the country.

Mobile Service Office (MSO) Stops
Under the renewed partnership with DAV, Hankook continues its commitment to help veterans through mobility by expanding its sponsorship of DAV's MSO program to six stops to better reach veterans across the country. MSO vehicles bring free services, such as assistance filing claims for Veteran Affairs benefits, directly to veterans where they live. At the MSO stops, certified DAV benefits advocates are available in the "office on wheels" to ensure veterans who sacrificed for the nation receive the benefits they earned.

Hankook has leveraged its tire dealer network to bring DAV's MSO vehicles to service local veterans at tire dealerships across the country at the following locations:

    -- Black's Tire in Fayetteville, N.C. - Aug. 15
-- Discount Tire Center in Yucca Valley, Calif. - Aug. 18
-- ESS Automotive in Mentor, Ohio - Aug. 23
-- CJ's Tire in Fairless Hills, Pa. - Sept. 26
-- Gateway Tire in Clarksville, Tenn. - Oct 20
-- Russo Tires in Doral, Fla. - Oct. 30

"For three years, Hankook has enabled DAV to better fulfill our promise to serve America's veterans," said Marc Burgess, DAV National Adjutant and CEO. "As we continue our partnership, we cannot thank Hankook enough for their support, be it through giving America's veterans better accessibility to benefits and services, or simply working to improve their quality of life. It is so vital that we are able to continue offering our heroes the recognition and support they deserve."

Additionally, to recognize the men and women who have served, Hankook and DAV will co-sponsor all five Cincinnati Reds Military Appreciation Days throughout the 2017 baseball season.

The 2017 partnership was announced at an on-field check presentation last month at a Cincinnati Reds' Military Appreciation Day Game at the Great American Ball Park. During the ceremony, Hankook Tire America Corp.'s Senior Vice President Jae Bum Park presented DAV National Commander Dave Riley with a $150,000 check to continue to help veterans through mobility.
