See new 2018 Kia models at Tampa-area Friendly Kia

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla., July 24, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Summer is a time for relaxation and leisure, spent with friends and family. But it also marks the time when the first new 2018 Kia models are arriving on lots nationwide, and especially at Tampa-area dealer Friendly Kia of New Port Richey, which has seen the recent arrival of the 2018 Kia Sorento SUV and the 2018 Kia Optima midsize sedan in recent weeks.

The 2018 Kia Sorento is a carryover from the 2017 model year, and one which sees the same levels of performance and fuel economy, but with expanded availability of safety features. The 2018 Sorento begins at 24 combined miles per gallon in its base L trim and reaches horsepower up to 290 in its four trim levels with a V6 engine, which can also tow up to 5,000 pounds. However, the mid-line EX trim sees additional standard safety features like Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Blind-Spot Detection that were optional in the 2017 model year.

The 2018 Kia Optima is a continuation of the successful 2017 Optima model year, but with a change in the available trims. While the 2017 Optima had two trims that reached 245 horsepower in the SX and SX Limited trims, the 2018 Optima still can top out at 245 horsepower in its top-line SX trim, while the SX Limited is being swapped out with a more affordable, and fuel-efficient, S trim level, with 24 miles per gallon city and 34 miles per gallon highway. The 2018 Optima's LX 1.6T trim achieves an even higher fuel rating at 28 miles per gallon city and 37 miles per gallon highway.

Other models the employees at Friendly Kia are anticipating are the 2018 Kia Sportage crossover and 2018 Kia Niro Plug-In Hybrid, set to arrive later in 2017.
