Cenergistic Energy Specialist for University of Kentucky Named Fulbright Scholar

Energy conservation leader Cenergistic today announced Specialist Zach Tyler of its University of Kentucky team was awarded a Fulbright Research Grant, a prestigious and highly-competitive opportunity. Tyler will study tree growth patterns in Brazil beginning February 2018. He first visited Brazil during a previous exchange program during his junior year at University of Kentucky. Tyler spent seven months studying energy policy, photo voltaic, language, reforestation and environmental issues.

A Biosystems engineering graduate of University of Kentucky, Tyler joined Cenergistic in 2016 as one of eight Energy Specialists assigned to University of Kentucky. He was drawn to the position because he prioritizes sustainability, especially approached economically. He’s interested in reducing waste on his home campus, and appreciated the blend of working with people and the technical work. He felt it suited him better than conventional engineering positions.

Dr. William S. Spears, Cenergistic Chairman and Founder, said he’s not surprised to find he has a Fulbright Scholar on staff. “It speaks to the caliber of the people we hire,” Dr. Spears said. “We look for the best person for every position and work to develop each one to fullest potential. I congratulate Zach on this outstanding accomplishment and wish him all the best. We’re looking forward to his return. We couldn’t be more proud of him.”

The Fulbright Scholar Program is the country’s largest educational exchange program, offering opportunities for students and young professionals to undertake international graduate study, advanced research, university teaching, and school teaching worldwide. Fulbrighters address critical global issues in all disciplines, while building relationships, knowledge, and leadership in support of long-term interests of the United States. Fulbright alumni have achieved distinction in many fields, including 57 Nobel Prize recipients, 82 Pulitzer Prize recipients, and 37 heads of state or government.
