Intrepid Announces Senior Hires for its Advisory Team

Intrepid Financial Partners is pleased to announce senior hires for its Advisory team.

John Nesland has agreed to join Intrepid as a Managing Director based in New York. John will join Intrepid from UBS, where he was most recently a Managing Director and responsible for the Midstream and Downstream coverage efforts. Prior to that, John was a senior Energy investment banker at Barclays and Lehman Brothers, where he worked closely with Intrepid’s founders. John is widely recognized as a leader in the Midstream and Downstream sectors and has been involved with numerous high profile and important transactions.

“We are incredibly excited to have John join Intrepid,” says Skip McGee, CEO of Intrepid. “Having worked closely with John for many years at Barclays and Lehman, I know first-hand how impactful he will be to our team. His deep industry expertise, longstanding relationships and reputation as a trusted advisor to some of the sector’s most important players will be instrumental as we continue to deliver the best suite of Advisory services to our clients.”

Chris Winchenbaugh, President and COO of Intrepid, says “John is an important addition to the team, and I look forward to working with him again. His focus on excellence and ability to execute complex transactions will be a competitive advantage for Intrepid as we continue to establish ourselves as a leading advisor to the energy sector.”

In addition, Shane Sealey will join Intrepid as a Managing Director based in Houston. Shane will join from Evercore, where he was most recently a Managing Director focused on Upstream coverage. In addition to playing a senior role executing important transactions, Shane also established and led Evercore’s Asia Oil & Gas Advisory business. Prior to Evercore, Shane held numerous roles at Scotia Waterous, where he was an investment banker since 2004.

“Shane has been a key advisor in the U.S. Upstream space, and we are impressed by his breadth of relationships and transaction experience,” says Skip. “He is a welcome addition to the team and will play an important role in our Upstream Advisory effort.”

Since it was founded in 2015, Intrepid has advised on transactions with approximately $75 billion of aggregate value and hired 29 professionals across its Advisory and Investing businesses. Intrepid has plans to continue to add to its team in the near- to medium-term.
