Meridios Partners with Mingle Analytics to Help Practices Succeed with MIPS
COSHOCTON, Ohio, Aug. 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Meridios, an Ohio-based healthcare technology company, has partnered with Mingle Analytics to provide Medicare quality reporting services to their healthcare reporting customers.
The partnership will enable healthcare providers and practices to avoid penalties and maximize Medicare reimbursements under the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS).
Under MIPS, which began January 1, 2017, it will no longer be enough to just report quality data to Medicare. The new program is part of Medicare's shift to value-based care with payments based on quality and cost rather than volume. Performance will now be measured on a 100-point scale and penalties could reach as high as 9 percent by 2022 under the new program. The 100-point scoring is based on three performance categories in 2017: Quality (formerly known as PQRS), Advancing Care Information (previously called Meaningful Use), and Improvement Activities; Cost, the fourth category, is proposed to begin at a later date.
