The First Annual International anTi-Corrosion Conference to Feature Astronaut Mike Mullane as Keynote

International Titanium Association (ITA) is set to host the first annual “International anTi-Corrosion Conference.” The event will be held in conjunction with TITANIUM USA 2017, on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, Florida. TITANIUM USA 2017 is hosted by the International Titanium Association.

This brand-new event is for the reactive metals industry. Distinguished speakers from the chemical processing and other industries using Titanium and other corrosion resistant alloys will discuss topics of interest to owners, design engineers, plant engineers, maintenance engineers, reliability engineers and quality assurance engineers.

The keynote speaker will be Astronaut Mike Mullane! He will be speaking on "Stopping Normalization of Deviance." Astronaut Mullane uses the space shuttle Challenger disaster to define this term, its safety consequences, and how individuals and teams can defend themselves from the phenomenon.

The event also features ten other speakers discussing topics such as "Choosing the Best Reactive Metals for use in Corrosive Environments," "Considerations While Selecting Materials of Construction for Chemical Process Equipment in Nitric Acid Service” and "Microbiologically Induced Corrosion Effects on Titanium and Other Metals."

The event will be hosted at the beautiful Diplomat Resort & Spa, Hollywood, Florida. Fresh off a glamorous $100 million transformation, The Diplomat Beach Resort ushers in a new era of oceanfront perfection in South Florida. Voted a Top Florida Resort by Conde Nast Traveler Readers in 2016, the hotel’s flair for the exceptional extends from the Atlantic Ocean to the Intracoastal Waterway.
