Oklahoma Vet Elected National Vice Commander of Legion

A U.S. Navy veteran of the Seabees and former commander of the Oklahoma American Legion was elected national vice commander of the two-million member veteran’s organization during its national convention in Reno, Nev., today.

Bobby D. Bryant, of American Legion Post 108 in Cushing, Okla., has held various offices at every level of The American Legion. He completed two tours of duty in Vietnam and spent 39 years working in the telecommunications industry. He was a video / audiotechnical director for Super Bowl XXX in Tempe, Ariz., and again during the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. A former mayor of Buckeye, Ariz., he and his wife Linda have three grown children, seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Bryant is one of 12 national officers in The American Legion.
