GT Nexus Shipper Council Acknowledges Hapag-Lloyd for Outstanding Data Quality Performance for Second Consecutive Year

OAKLAND, Calif., Sept. 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The GT Nexus Shipper Council, a technology user group of supply chain executives representing multiple large global companies, has recognized Hapag-Lloyd for excellence in supporting the community's supply chain automation initiatives. The ocean carrier achieved a 99 percent data quality standard during the measurement period by delivering all but 300 of an expected 80,000 shipment event notifications. The award was announced during the annual GT Nexus Bridges conference, held July 10-12, 2017, in New York City.

The GT Nexus Shipper Council is a group of executives from large importers and exporters who work together to improve partner relations, technology performance and business processes. Companies on the Shipper Council, which have combined annual revenues of over $1.7 trillion and work with every major supply chain provider, all share Infor's GT Nexus Commerce Network as their global supply chain technology platform.

Hapag-Lloyd is a leading global liner shipping company, operating 230 modern ships, carrying 11 million TEUs (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units) per year. The company has over 13,000 employees at more than 360 locations in 125 countries.

"The Shipper Council members all share a desire to work with partners on information exchange, standards and quality," said Siva Narayanan, Director, International Ops & Warehousing at Solvay, and current Shipper Council Chairperson. "It is difficult and costly to run a global supply chain without data from partners, so when you see a carrier deliver nearly 100 percent of the expected events at the volume levels the Shipper Council represents, we feel it is important to recognize excellence. The GT Nexus Shipper Council applauds Hapag-Lloyd for its on-going commitment and dedication to providing excellent data quality and service. "

"We understand the importance that our customers place on a carrier's ability to support their automation initiatives," said Joey Timm, Director Global e-Business at Hapag-Lloyd. "Receiving this award for the second consecutive year, and fourth time overall, validates our efforts and reinforces the importance of collaborating with customers in an automated, real-time environment. We are truly honored to be recognized by the Shipper Council."
