American Association of Professional Landmen Pledges up to $1.25 Million in Disaster Relief

The American Association of Professional Landmen and AAPL Educational Foundation, Inc. announced their pledge of up to $1.25 million in disaster relief directly to AAPL members affected by natural disasters such as Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. AAPL will contribute $500,000 immediately to the Foundation and will match all donations dollar for dollar up to an additional $500,000. In addition, the AAPL Educational Foundation will also match dollar for dollar all donations for disaster relief up to $250,000.

“We are proud to have the opportunity for the Educational Foundation to broaden its charitable activities to include disaster relief, starting with AAPL's generous donation of $500,000,” Nicholas D. Hess, CPL, chairman of the Foundation, said.

One hundred percent of donations received for disaster relief will go directly to AAPL members to assist with disaster relief, without any deductions for administrative or operating fees. Donations for disaster relief programs are generally tax-deductible but please consult your tax professional for advice specific to you. To make a donation, please mail checks to the AAPL Educational Foundation, Inc. at 800 Fournier St., Fort Worth, TX 76102. Checks should be made payable to “AAPL Educational Foundation, Inc.” and specify “Disaster Relief” in the memo line.

“This is a chance for our association to help our members who have suffered devastating losses during the recent storms,” said David W. Miller, CPL, president of AAPL. “I encourage our members and others in the community to consider AAPL’s and the Foundation’s offers to match donations and further aid fellow members’ efforts to rebuild.”
