Sherwood Ford encourages community members to partake in WE Scare Hunger Food Drive

SHERWOOD PARK, Alberta, Sept. 25, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- In efforts to raise awareness and donations, Sherwood Ford is participating in the WE Scare Hunger Food Drive for another year. WE Scare Hunger is a food drive spanning the entire country. Canada as a whole is one giant community, and when the entire nation comes together to help out those in need, great things can get accomplished. Even donating one or two jars of non-perishable food can make the difference in helping a family make it through hard times that plague everyone at some point or another.

At any given time, 4 million Canadians are faced with hunger. Many may think that hunger is far away from their communities, but studies have shown that one in five Canadians is in need of assistance. Just last year, the Strathcona Food Bank located in Sherwood Park provided food for over 9,000 men, women and children in Strathcona county alone. Unfortunately, the number of people in need of food is on the rise and food banks around the country are encouraging community members to keep hunger at bay by donating whatever is possible to help those who are going through a rough patch.

Those interested in learning more about Sherwood Ford's partnership with the WE Scare Hunger Campaign can read about it on the dealership's website, www.sherwoodford.ca. Along with many local schools, Sherwood Ford will also be home to a donation box where people throughout the area may bring in non-perishable food items in order to provide assistance to those in need. For more information on the WE Scare Hunger Food Drive, Sherwood Ford can be contacted at (780) 417-2985 or 2540 Broadmoor Boulevard in Sherwood Park.
