Maxim Integrated Highlights Turnkey Embedded Security for the IoT at Embedded Systems Conference & Expo 2017

SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- At Embedded Systems Conference & Expo 2017 (December 5-7, 2017), Maxim Integrated Products, Inc. (NASDAQ: MXIM) will demonstrate new turnkey technologies that protect embedded and connected systems from invasive attacks. Left unprotected, our increasingly prevalent connected devices are opening up new vulnerabilities into entire networks. Contrary to common myths around security, hardware-based protections can be easily and affordably implemented to safeguard internet of things (IoT) designs.

At ESC, Maxim will present talks by two of the company's security experts:

    --  Scott Jones, managing director, Embedded Security, will cover
        "Next-Generation Secure Authenticators Protected By PUF" from 3 p.m. to
        3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 210DH
    --  Stephane Di Vito, senior security and software engineer, will discuss
        "Securing TLS in Connected Devices with a Companion Security IC" from 8
        a.m. to 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7, at 210CG

Maxim will also provide technology demonstrations in the following areas:

    --  DS28E38 DeepCover® secure authenticator with ChipDNA(TM) technology,
        which provides immunity to invasive physical attacks because the
        cryptographic key does not exist in memory or any other static state.
        This cost-effective physically unclonable function (PUF) circuit instead
        relies on the naturally occurring random analog characteristics of
        fundamental MOSFET devices.
    --  MAXAUTHDEMO DeepCover Secure Authenticator Demonstration Kit, which
        showcases use case examples for DeepCover secure authenticators, such as
        secure download/boot, counterfeit protection, and IoT device
        authenticity and message integrity. The kit includes hardware operated
        from USB 2.0 and software GUIs that show how the functional capabilities
        of Maxim's secure authenticators are used in various end equipment
        scenarios.
