The 4th annual Digital Edge Awards recognizes 50 organizations for digital initiatives that are transforming the way they operate, how they interact with customers, and even the products they have in market. Complexity, scale, impact, and innovation are all part of what makes an initiative worthy of a Digital Edge award.

-- St. Luke's University Health Network used Information Builders' WebFOCUS
and Omni-HealthData(TM) to integrate clinical, financial,
administrative, and external data from more than 40 data sources
throughout a regional health network that includes seven hospitals and
more than 270 outpatient sites. This advanced analytics environment
leverages a cleansed and consolidated set of master data to boost
performance, capture revenue, reduce costs, and compete more effectively
with other regional health networks. Key areas of focus include
improving clinical quality, growing market share, reducing costs, and
adding new and different capabilities to support success in a changing
        healthcare environment

-- Michigan State Police (MSP) used WebFOCUS and Omni-Gen(TM) to create a
mobile, web-based search tool for troopers, detectives, supervisors, and
crime analysts. By rolling out enhanced search capabilities, mobile
dashboards, and an integrated data set based on golden records, MSP is
working to increase operational efficiency by pushing real-time insights
down to the trooper level, with the goal of helping deter crimes and
minimize traffic accidents. This modern analytics environment is
enabling MSP to better support its core mission of law enforcement while
        promoting safety across the state.
-- Using WebFOCUS, United Way Worldwide created a self-service analytics
portal that gives its 13,000 employees insight into the health,
education, and financial stability of the communities they serve.
Engaged in nearly 1,800 communities across more than 40 countries,
United Way Worldwide has leveled the playing field by allowing all kinds
of users, regardless of their technical abilities, to access and analyze
data impacting their local operations in real time. The portal
automatically customizes the data each user sees based on their
location, needs, and interests, enabling United Ways to achieve
operational excellence, maximize nearly $5 billion raised each year, and
better fight for the 61 million people it serves annually

Anne McCrory, Digital Edge program chair and Group VP, Customer Experience and Operations, IDG Events and CIO Executive Council said:
"This year we have many winners employing AI and machine learning, or a combination of the two, demonstrating how quickly those technologies are taking hold. There are projects on data accessibility, digital assistants, sensors, and integrating numerous systems and data types for mobile users. All have remarkable returns, whether those are efficiencies or sales from new capabilities or even new businesses launching."
