Beechwood Landscape brings beauty to the bay in Avalon, New Jersey

SOUTHAMPTON, N.J., Feb. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Beechwood Landscape Architecture and Construction, LLC recently completed an award-winning project three years in the making from initial design concepts to complete build out. They were awarded the NESPA (Northeast Spa and Pool Association) Gold Award on Wednesday, January 24(th). The Beechwood team, led by Steve Chepurny, a registered New Jersey Landscape Architect, vowed to deliver their client the waterfront living they've always dreamed of.

The private residence, located in Avalon, New Jersey sits on two lots overlooking the bay and intercostal waterway. Beechwood worked very closely with the builder, architects and interior designer to develop a space that would complement the client's love of outdoor living and entertaining. The challenge was to design a home that met all regulations set forth by the town, state and DEP following Hurricane Sandy.

The resulting project was a custom gunite swimming pool accompanied by an expansive spa in the rear yard. Limited by space, the fire feature was integrated into the design of the pool. "To unite the pool with the ground floor, it extends under the house with the columns of the house integrated into the pool," Chepurny explained. Long benches were introduced in this area to allow for a retreat from the sun while enjoying the views of the bay. An Ocean Blue Travertine was utilized for the pool deck, inclusive of Travertine bullnose coping.

"Integrating the stone from the house onto the spa, pool columns and seat wall unified the space through use of the materials. Landscape was introduced along the perimeter for privacy, color and texture. The property comes to life at night with a custom designed low voltage lighting system that can change to a variety of different colors," said Chepurny.
