Leonardo Teams with Nozomi Networks to Secure Critical Infrastructures for its international customers

Critical and industrial infrastructures and related control systems (Industrial Control Systems) are increasingly exposed to cyber attacks and therefore require greater levels of detection to develop more effective protection and response capabilities.

Leonardo, a global company focused on aerospace, defense and security, and Nozomi Networks, the leader in real-time cybersecurity and operational visibility for industrial control systems (ICS), today announced they have partnered to provide Nozomi Networks’ deep network visibility, non-intrusive monitoring and continuous threat detection capabilities to enhance Leonardo’s comprehensive Cyber Protection Program for Industrial and Critical National Infrastructures (CNI). The offering is available now to both current and future Leonardo customers worldwide.

“The cyber threat to critical infrastructure, industrial systems and operational technology networks is at an all time high, thus generating growing customer demand for better protection,” said Andrea Biraghi, Managing Director of Leonardo’s Security & Information Systems Division. “We’ve partnered with Nozomi Networks because they provide the strongest possible solution when it comes to detecting anomalies early and proactively, preventing threats within our customers’ environments.”

Deep knowledge of the complexities of ICS networks, continuous innovation and expertise in artificial intelligence have made Nozomi Networks SCADAguardian the most comprehensive, scalable, and mature product in its category. Now in its third generation of technology, Nozomi Networks is leading the ICS security market with a proven end-to-end platform for ICS cybersecurity and operational reliability. Capabilities include real-time ICS monitoring, industrial network visualization, hybrid ICS threat and anomaly detection, asset inventory and vulnerability assessment, all delivered through a single solution.

Leonardo has been at the forefront of the development of solutions to security threats for years. Focused on the Military and CNI fields, Leonardo provides a comprehensive and systemic approach that covers the entire lifecycle of cybersecurity programs including security governance, assessment and design of digital infrastructures, the adoption of specific technologies for SCADA/ICS protection, the design and operation of Industrial Security Operations Centers and cyber threat intelligence systems.

Leonardo is pursuing an open innovation approach, in line with the strategic drivers of the Industrial Plan recently presented, collaborating with the best universities and national institutions of the countries in which the Company operates and activating synergies and qualified partnerships with innovative start-up to integrate the best technologies.

“We are thrilled to team with Leonardo to help strengthen cybersecurity for critical infrastructure in Europe and around the world,” said Nozomi Networks Co-Founder and Chief Product Office  Andrea Carcano. “They have an intimate understanding of the unique demands these networks face and we look forward to helping them make infrastructure around the world more safe.”

“Since our early investment in Nozomi Networks back in 2013 we’ve continued to be impressed with their constant innovation and their proven ability to solve critical cybersecurity challenges for some of the world’s largest industrial operators,” said Planven Investments CEO Giovanni Canetta Roeder, “Leonardo’s proven reputation and large global footprint presents a tremendous opportunity for Nozomi Networks to accelerate growth across Europe and around the world. We are proud to have helped the two come together.”
