Eastern Michigan University Selects Portfolium for ePortfolios, Digital Badging, and Assessment

Portfolium will provide ePortfolios, digital badging, and assessment to 21,000+ Eastern Michigan University (EMU) students and faculty to expand student engagement, provide a platform for consistent approaches to general education assessment, and utilize digital badging to capture and assess experiences with high impact practices.

SAN DIEGO, March 9, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Portfolium, a leading cloud-based learning success platform that enables students to capture, curate, and convert skills into attractive job offers, has today announced it has partnered with Eastern Michigan University (EMU).

Portfolium will provide ePortfolios, digital badging, and general education assessment to 21,000+ EMU students and faculty to expand student engagement, provide a platform for consistent approaches to general education assessment, and utilize digital badging to capture and assess experiences with high impact practices (HIPs).

Portfolium allows students to showcase their academic and creative work, connect with peers and potential employers, and launch successful careers while simultaneously providing flexible general education assessment management with customizable rubrics, curriculum mapping, and reporting for faculty and administrators. Even after students graduate, they will be able to use their lifelong learning ePortfolio profiles free and continue to curate these profiles as they advance their education and ultimately enter the workforce.

EMU needed solutions for three campus wide initiatives: ePortfolios, badging of HIPs, and centralized assessment of General Education. Instead of selecting three separate platforms and operating them in silos, Portfolium is able to solve all three needs connecting learners, faculty, administrators, and employers within one network.

"Portfolium seems to offer the most robust platform for multiple purposes, integrates seamlessly with Canvas, and affords students a long term tool to represent and market their educational experience," said Michael Tew, Associate Provost & Associate VP for Academic Programming & Services at EMU.

"We are thrilled to be partnering with EMU and helping their students translate workforce skills from their curriculum in and out of the class, while showcasing their experience in a three-dimensional way," said Troy Markowitz, VP Partnerships at Portfolium.

On campus, Portfolium will help to strengthen and promote student learning success by leading students from their transition into EMU, through their graduation, and toward their unique personal and professional path in life. Portfolium will also enable students to build multi-dimensional ePortfolios, making them more attractive to potential employers.
