2019 Volkswagen Jetta adds MPG

MCMINNVILLE, Ore., April 3, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The new seventh-generation 2019 Volkswagen Jetta is hitting the streets this summer, and it's going to offer more MPG, a refreshed interior, and a brand-new eight-speed automatic transmission. The base model will continue to have the 1.4-liter turbo-four making 147 horsepower, and as such its new great mileage comes from its other features.

Some of the features that interested buyers can look forward to is a clutch-driven air conditioner, a more efficient alternator, and a less viscous grade of oil. This allows the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta to have an EPA-estimated fuel efficiency of 40 MPG on the highway, as well as 30 MPG in the city. That is a two MPG increase for both measures compared to the previous year's models. The 2019 Volkswagen Jetta will be losing the 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine, however, but the 2.0-liter will likely stick around for the GLI versions of the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta.

Additionally, costumers will be interested to know that the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta has moved to VW's MQB platform, which allowed the designed to reshape the body to gain more interior space overall. It also features new shutters in the grille that close when possible, giving it a better overall drag, and thus allowing it to have great efficiency.
