It begins with customer files, in which the trimmer can track the work done on the fly as the cattle move through the chute. To start use, the trimmer enters the cow ID and gets to work.
The first screen in the app shows all four hooves, which can be rotated to match the orientation of the cow in front of the trimmer. Within each of the four hooves are different zones that allow the trimmer to apply certain treatments or make notes on specific zones of the hoof that will digitally record and appear during future trims.
Moreover, if the trimmer charges differently for special items or services, such as trimming with ulcers, thin soles, etc., those items can be selected and charged directly to the client invoice as the cow moves through the chute. If there are problems in certain hoof zones that need visual notes, trimmers can select the camera function, take a picture, add a note (or highlight and draw directly on the picture), and save it next to the treatment note, which can be referenced during the next trim. This app is innovative and intuitive for users of all tech levels. Need a reminder to check back on a special note? Users can set a calendar notification for any date or a preset 30, 60, or 90 days to keep business on track.
Each cow is tracked by an ID and saved to that owner's respective account. Upon completion of the trimming job, the trimmer simply presses a big green check mark (which is quite gratifying) and enters the next cow's ID. No need to take notes to upload to an invoice later; this all happens in real time. If there are multiple devices connected to a wifi signal, the data can be collected and shared immediately.
Once the cows are done with trimming, looking great and healthy, the trimmer can finish the job and see a visual of the invoice immediately. Any photos taken, notes made, and trims charged will appear right away. It can be condensed into a simple billing invoice which can be AirDropped to another Apple product, emailed as a PDF, or printed using a Bluetooth or wifi printer. For record keeping purposes, trimmers can convert all of the digital information in the application to an Excel spreadsheet.
