Boozman and Westerman to visit Timber Automation

U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) and U.S. Representative Bruce Westerman (AR-04) have announced plans to visit Timber Automation on May 3 as part of their #TalkSmallYall small business tour throughout the state. They plan to meet with business owners to explore how recent tax reforms are impacting them and what regulatory burdens they face in the current business climate.

Earlier this year Timber Automation announced an investment of more than $3.5 million in new customer support, engineering and manufacturing jobs as well as capital equipment at its 145,000 square foot facility in Hot Springs. It was founded by Hot Springs locals and has been part of the community for more than 25 years, first as Hi-Tech Engineering in the early 90s and more recently as Baxley-LogPro from the mid-2000s. In 2017, the company rebranded to Timber Automation, officially bringing together Baxley, LogPro and newly-formed Timber Automation Construction, which completes turnkey construction and equipment installation.

“We are excited to host Senator Boozman and Representative Westerman here in Hot Springs. This visit is another positive indicator of our state and local leaders’ commitment to creating a business-friendly environment to help small businesses grow and create more jobs,” said John Steck, President of Timber Automation.

The visit will be held on Thursday May 3, 2018, at 1:00 pm at Timber Automation’s global headquarters in Hot Springs. It comes ahead of a job fair Timber Automation will host on Saturday May 5 from 10 am to 2 pm to fill immediate needs for welders, CNC machinists and experienced project, mechanical and electrical engineers.
