Mercedes-Benz Canada warms up to spring with record April sales
TORONTO, May 1, 2018 /CNW/ - Mercedes-Benz Canada and its national dealer network are pleased to report a record-breaking April result: 4,727 Mercedes-Benz passenger vehicles, vans, and smart units were retailed throughout the month, for an 8.5% increase over April 2017. Year-to-date, the company kept pace with last year's results, delivering a total of 16,867 vehicles.
The luxury manufacturer also achieved its best-ever April results for sales of its passenger vehicles, with 4,088 passenger cars and luxury light trucks delivered representing a 7.4% increase over 2017. Notably, the luxury light truck segment saw the most growth: monthly sales reached 2,314 units (+45.2%), bringing year-to-date sales to 7,914 vehicles (up 19.1% over this time last year). As in previous months, these results were bolstered by the popular GLE SUV and Coupe, which saw an increase of 71.8% compared to April 2017 and 44.1% year-to-date, as well as the GLC SUV and Coupe, whose sales grew by 43.4% compared to April 2017 and 24.4% year-to-date.
The Mercedes-Benz Vans division reported a record-breaking April, as well, with 606 units retailed for a 14.8% increase compared to April 2017. This strong monthly result was bolstered by continued demand for the Sprinter and Sprinter Cab Chassis, which saw growth of 20.8% and 17.2% respectively compared to this time last year.
33 smart fortwo vehicles were delivered in April.
The Mercedes-Benz Pre-Owned division also reported best-ever April results, retailing 1,533 units for a monthly growth of 4.9%. Year-to-date, the division has delivered 5,416 vehicles (+3.6%). Certified Pre-Owned sales volume remained steady in April, with 1,269 units retailed over the course of the month and 4,282 units delivered so far in 2018.
