CleanZones LLC Selects Vycom's Corrtec® Protec(TM) PP for Durable, Chemical-Resistant Cleanroom Equipment

Protec (TM) PP from Vycom was selected by CleanZones, LLC for the design of their high quality air filtration equipment and systems for the cleanroom industry. Part of Vycom's Corrtec line of products, CleanZones found that Protec PP withstands the many chemicals it's exposed to while maintaining its structural and aesthetic integrity.

SCRANTON, Pa., May 29, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- CleanZones, LLC, of Jackson, New Jersey, designs and manufactures high quality air filtration equipment and systems for the cleanroom industry. CleanZones has selected Vycom's Corrtec® Protec(TM) PP in white for a variety of its products because it will withstand the many chemicals it's exposed to while maintaining its structural and aesthetic integrity.

Part of Vycom's Corrtec® family of chemical and corrosion resistant materials, Protec PP is designed to meet requirements in chemical handling, air processing, industrial tanks, pharmaceuticals, wastewater management and many other industries. It has a high strength-to-weight ratio, doesn't absorb moisture and is easy to fabricate, weld, machine, thermoform, and vacuum form.

"Protec's acid-resistant properties, durability and multi-chemical resistance suits our customers' diverse applications," said Dave McClelland, President, CleanZones LLC. "If there's any type of acid, solvent, or fumes in the customer's process, we promote the use of Protec for the equipment."

CleanZones has made several products in its line out of Protec PP, including equipment tables, fume hoods, laminar flow exhaust work stations, wet process hoods, walk-in hoods, cleanroom walls, pass-through-chambers and garment cabinets. "We can make anything in our line from Protec PP," says McClelland.

"It's perfect for equipment in and around cleanroom environments because it offers the same growth-resistance as stainless but is more economical and can be wiped down with chemicals."

On the company's segmented table tops, where a portion is removable to expose a sink or heated bath underneath, the material's consistency helps ensure the removable portion is the same depth as the permanent section when installed. CleanZones fabricates their fume hoods, laminar flow exhaust work stations, and wet process hoods from flat sheet of Protec PP. The sheets are v-grooved and bent into 90 degrees, welded, formed, shaped, cut and machined.

"Another great quality of Protec is that it's masked on all sides which not all manufacturers do for polypropylene," says McClelland. "And it's standard so I don't have to ask for it every time. In our customers' applications, both sides can be seen and therefore need the protection from scratches." For their semi-hard wall cleanrooms, CleanZones uses ¼" Protec material slipped into prefabricated slots in anodized metal poles. These wall panels then can be easily removed to move the room to another location or even another building. CleanZones specializes in the design and manufacture of high quality air filtration equipment and systems for the cleanroom industry.

They also provide expert design and installation of cleanrooms from Class 100 through 100K (softwall, hardwall, semi-hardwall, modular), including interfacing walls, panels, ceilings, doors and windows. Learn more about Protec PP on Vycom's website at http://www.vycomplastics.com.
