Honda Canada Reports Record Breaking May Sales

MARKHAM, ON, June 1, 2018 /CNW/ - Honda Canada Inc. today reported a record-setting May with sales of 21,698 Honda and Acura vehicles, up 3.4 percent from the previous year. The Honda Automobile Division reported best-ever May sales of 19,794 units sold, up 3.2 percent from the previous year, while the Acura Division reported May sales of 1,904 units, up 6 percent versus last year.
"Our core models continued their strong performance into the spring, leading Honda to reach its best-ever May sales," said Jean Marc Leclerc, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Honda Canada. "CR-V spiked nearly 30% year-over-year, recording its best monthly sales performance, while Civic continued to maintain its dominance as the best-selling car in its segment."
"Sales of Acura's truck lineup saw yet another strong performance as the MDX and RDX led the brand to another growth month, while the TLX rocketed past expectations with a 33 percent increase from the same time last year," said Emile Korkor, Senior Manager and Brand Leader, Acura Canada. "We had a strong spring and are optimistic to have an even better summer as we get set to launch the highly anticipated next-generation 2019 Acura RDX."
