Mercedes-Benz Canada showcases Canadian talent to prove good things come from the garage
-- New campaign features emerging artists The Beaches and Spencer Burton
TORONTO, June 18, 2018 /CNW/ - The garage can be a hotbed for innovation. It's where Mercedes-Benz got started and it's where many musicians began their artistic journeys. To celebrate this common ground, Mercedes-Benz Canada invited emerging Canadian artists to revisit the garage and perform secret concerts in an intimate setting. Throughout the summer, Mercedes-Benz Canada will share recordings from these live sets on its Spotify page. Interspersed among the live tracks, fans will also hear behind-the-scenes interviews and edits from the unique performances that took place in a garage in Toronto's west end.
Fresh off a Juno win for Breakthrough Group of the Year, The Beaches took over the garage for the first of these Mercedes-Benz Garage Gigs concerts. The Spotify playlist featuring their live performance is now live and the full concert can now be viewed on Mercedes-Benz Canada's YouTube channel.
Throughout the summer, Mercedes-Benz will release recordings and video from additional Mercedes-Benz Garage Gigs, such as a set by Canadian artist Spencer Burton performing cuts from his album 'Songs Of'."
"Something special happens when people are given the right environment to pursue their passions. Particularly in our organization and for up-and-coming musicians, the garage is that perfect space," says Virginie Aubert, Vice-President of Marketing, Mercedes-Benz Canada. "Mercedes-Benz Garage Gigs is about highlighting emerging Canadian talent while also celebrating the garage as a catalyst for creativity."
