WHY

President Trump’s Section 232 tariffs on imported steel and aluminum have already created significant collateral damage for U.S. industries. American ports and steel importing companies are seeing throughput decline sharply. Meanwhile, U.S. steel-using manufacturers are encountering product price increases of 50% or more and are experiencing difficulty in obtaining the steel they need, regardless of whether they buy domestic-sourced or imported steel.

This briefing will announce the launch of a legal challenge that seeks to remedy a situation that is bad for the American economy and American workers alike. The legal action will commence Wednesday morning, with attorneys available at the press conference to describe and discuss this critically important, first-of-its-kind initiative.
