St. Louis Organizations Receive Nearly $311,000 for Technology Needs

ST. LOUIS, Aug. 22, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Gateway to Innovation (G2I) capped off $310,782 in 2018 St. Louis community giveback by presenting contributions to 32 non-profit and educational organizations and individuals during a special event hosted at T-REX, 911 Washington Avenue in downtown St. Louis.

Each year G2I donates 100 percent of net proceeds from its increasingly popular annual conference, which was attended by 1,500 regional Information Technology (IT) professionals in downtown St. Louis in mid-May, to worthy organizations that demonstrate technology-related needs. Since the first conference in 2006, G2I community giveback totals $1,679,951.

G2I distributed the remainder of its 2018 community giveback initiative at Monday's event. The organizations receiving contributions were:

G2I 2018 contributions have already been presented for six $2,000 scholarships for St. Louis area high school students pursuing a technology degree at a local university, $9,935 in SIM St. Louis community involvement, and $35,000 for a new technology-focused endowed scholarship fund at Fontbonne University. G2I also contributed $26,346 (comprised of a $15,000 donation, $5,673 of attendee donations and $5,673 in matching funds) to DonorsChoose.org, and $12,500 to the Gateway PGA Reach Foundation.
